[aroid-l] tubers splitting

I've seen this in Amorphophallus, Arisaema, and like you, Synandrospadix. I suspect this may be due to the plant getting too much water just before it begins +More to shut down for dormancy. This splitting of tubers is a lot like watermelons and pumpkins splitting in the autumn due to getting too much rain. Alan
