Perhaps even more bizzarly, forest trees in the Bignoniaceae and also the genus Ficus flower simulataneously over enormous tracts of forest and they are SEED raised and not identical clones. BUT---what about the second and third blooming, etc.?? Surely their inner 'clock' would and could not signal all these plants spread all over the world and growing under way different conditions to 'wait' 20 or so years AFTER the initial blooming and then, ''wham', all bloom together again?? What a good thing to have this true mystery in an aroid!!
