Alocasia melo

Looking at various Alocasia pictures on the net sites, it seems that what is
being called Alocasia cv."blackie", "black velvet" might be the new species
recently described by Dr. Hay. This is a Bornean species and was published
in the last issue of Curtis's Botanical Mag. (I believe).
