I took a piece of mine and placed it against the trunk of a medium sized live oak tree (1 foot diameter). It enveloped the trunk of the tree making numerous divisions of itself up to about 6 feet off the ground. I do not know if it is still going strong as I sold that house and downsized to a smaller home 3 years ago.
