  Dioscorea

Les,

Dioscorea is a member of the Yam family, Dioscoreaceae. If what have is
truly D. trifida, then you have what Julius would probably call Yampee.
I've also heard it called Cush-cush, and I am curious about the source of
this name. Some of the monocots are extremely invasive. One of them, D.
bulbifera, or air potato as it is sometimes called, sends Dewey into a panic!
