There may be no Sand Hill Cranes flying North just yet, but I have observed a number of local native plants beginning to emerge, from winter dormancy. Ariseama sp, and Symplocarpus have not yet shown any above ground growth here in Elgin, IL, however, I have moved some Green Dragons, which had emerging root growth. I would make sure that you dug deep enough not to damage any emerging roots. Then cover the transplant hole, to prevent any injury to the plant from frost. Some non Aroid plants already blooming here in my garden, are Hellebore, Aconite, Galanthus, Hamamelis vernalis, to name a few. Good luck with you transplanting.
