Greetings all.
At the annual meeting in September the IAS will again have a Plant Auction.
Please go to . There,
Lester Kallus has scanned in some of the pictures of the plants that will
be auctioned.
You are invited to participate.....
Plants shown and listed are for Auction on Sept. 25th at the IAS Annual
Meeting.
The auction will work in the following manner: Send Dewey Fisk
a *private message* listing the highest bids that you
are willing to pay for individual plants. You will then be in competition
with the bidding floor.
Example: You are willing to pay $150. for a plant but the highest bid on
the floor was $95. The bidding has been in $5. increments... Your bid of
$100. will be the sucessful bid. All bids will be confidential and will be
known only to the person on the floor that is bidding for you and, of
course, to Dewey.
You will be notified after the meeting if your bid was successful and its
amount. Shipping charges of between $3. & $5. will be added to your bid.
You will then send a check or Visa/Master Card information to the IAS and
the plant will be mailed to you via USPS Priority Mail.
So, take a look at the photos and listed plants, decide if there is
anything you like. All of the pictured plants were collected and
cultivated in French Guiana by our Speaker, Joep Moonen owner of Emerald
Jungle Village in French Guiana. Pictures were taken in the jungle of
mature plants. Plants offered are divisions that have been growing in a
mist chamber for the last month and are not necessarily mature plants as
pictured. They will, however, be rooted and ready to grow in your
location.
Also available at Auction but not pictured are:
Alocasia zebrina... about 2 ft. tall
Alocasia Hybd. (between A. micholitziana and A. bullatus, about 12 in. tall)
Alocasia sanderiana variegata (about 12 in. tall)
Caladium bicolor var. rubricundum (in 4" pots from tissue culture)
Amorphophallus konjac "Riorden Clone" (6" pots)
Anthurium willifordii (6" pots)
Gonatopus boivinii 'Green Clone' (6" pot)
Anthurium lucidum (mature plant)
Sorry, but, due to Customs restrictions, plants are available only to those
who live in areas not requiring Phytosanitary Certificates.
