  Amorphophallus sources in Malaysia?
From: Alastair Robinson Alastair_R at compuserve.com> on 2000.06.17 at 15:26:34(4812)
Miguel,

I have lived in Malaysia for twelve years and haven't come across any
nurseries that trade specifically in _Amorphophallus_. One may
occasionally come across them by chance in the many nurseries scattered
along rural roads, but their origins are often what we would consider
'shady', and rarely are they ever identified.
However, there is a nursery in Kuching, East Malaysia (your friend isn't
going to Borneo, is he?) which specialises in tissue cultured plants from
the region, especially Nepenthes, but also a *few* _Amorphophallus spp._
from Sarawak.
