  Philodendron and Branching
From: Ted.Held at hstna.com on 2001.02.19 at 18:46:56(5957)
I have two vey plebian philodendron vine species. And both of these are
resistent to branch. They are resistent to the point where I think they
basically will not develop side shoots. Pruning the tip gives rise to a
single new meristem at the nearest leaf joint to the tip.

This sounds like an elementary botanical issue. Would somebody please
explain the dynamics here? Is there a trick to achieving a branched plant?
