Dear friends,
Thanks to the kindness and competence of Scott Hyndman, the photos that I
had taken of Philodendron tortum Mayo & Soares (in press), also known as the
'spider' Philodendron at Albert`s and Merkle`s Nursery in Boynton Beach can
now be viewed at the following site---

Between Scott, Denis and myself we hope to soon be able to say exactly where
the ORIGINAL plant that was tissue cultured at the lab 'Ceres 2000'
originated, and if there were more than one plant used in the tissue
culture/propagation, perhaps a fine-leaflet and a thicker-leaflet
plant/plants.
In the set of my photos, you will notice a plant with a 'juvenile leaf that
looks VERY much like the leaf of one of Brian William's plants, this species
seems to produce some juvenile-looking leaves on some of the small plants
when grown from cuttings. The 'claw'/cataphyl/prophyll which attends the
most current leaf on mature plants of this species is visible in one
photograph, unfortunately it is not clear in other scans, so if anyone for
scientific purposes needs to view this structure, I can send them a photo
via snail mail.
Hopefully this site and the photos, some sent in by friends, will help to
clear up any confusion that remains concerning the identity of this most
attractive and interesting Philodendron species.
Any errors or omissions are mine, so please direct any personal comments to
me at---

Enjoy---
