  Was Ladybugs - Invasive?
From: "James W. Waddick" jwaddick at kc.rr.com> on 2002.04.30 at 15:35:22(8682)
Dear all;
It strikes exceedingly odd that with the Government ranting
over invasive plants, their own introduction of various just as
potentially invasive insects is looked on positively.

On earth day there on page 1 was Sec. of Int. Norton
releasing "exotic' insects in the Everglades to control "invasive"
plants. (Quotes mine). Odd when the government intentionally
introduces one kind of pest it is "exotic', but when gardeners
accidentally introduce them they are 'invasive".

Attitude and media. Hum bug.
