Aroideana Vol. 2 No. 1
Journal of the International Aroid Society
Volume 2, Number 1 of Aroideana (January 1979) explores the breadth of aroid research and cultivation. Simon Mayo opens with a detailed look at the living Araceae collections at Kew Gardens. Thomas B. Croat and George S. Bunting propose a standardized terminology for describing Anthurium species. Josef Bogner offers a biographical tribute to Professor Kurt Krause (1883–1963), whose work underpinned much of early 20th‑century aroid taxonomy. Michael Madison profiles the striking new species Anthurium superbum, and Croat presents Anthurium canasas, a species recently discovered in Panama. The issue is rounded out by a cover photo of Anchomanes abbreviatus cultivated at Kew.
