Aglaodorum: Mudflat Marvel
Aglaodorum is a monotypic genus of flowering plants in the Araceae family, represented solely by Aglaodorum griffithii. Native to tidal mudflats in Borneo, Sumatra, southern Indochina, and the Malay Peninsula, it bears robust, arrow‑shaped leaves, a single whorl of fragrant inflorescences, green fruits, and unusually large seeds that often germinate before detaching from the parent plant.
