Bakoa: Borneo’s Stream-Side Arums

Bakoa is a small genus of three obligate rheophytic species in the Araceae family, all native to Borneo’s lowland streams. These herbs grow on exposed rocks at waterfalls and are distinguished by a partly fused spadix and spathe, with flowers and seeds adapted for swift-water dispersal
