Boycea: Borneo’s Unique Aroid

Boycea is a monotypic genus in the Araceae family, comprising the single species Boycea bintuluensis. Endemic to Sarawak in Borneo, this perennial rhizomatous geophyte was first described as Nephthytis bintuluensis and reclassified into its own genus by A. Hay in 2022.
