Carlephyton: Madagascar’s Tuberous Aroids

Carlephyton is a small genus of four aroid species endemic to Madagascar characterized by seasonally dormant tubers and cordate leaves with reticulate venation Their inflorescences feature an unconstricted spathe and spadix, and they produce orange-red berries in tropical deciduous forests or rock crevices.
