Dracontioides: Swamp Marvel of Brazil

Dracontioides is a small genus of rhizomatous herbs in the Araceae family, endemic to eastern Brazil’s swampy habitats. Once thought to contain a single species, it now comprises two rare taxa distinguished by glossy, perforated sagittate leaves and a foul-smelling inflorescence.
