Holochlamys: Streamside Arum Gem
Holochlamys is a monotypic genus of flowering plants in the Araceae family, represented solely by H. beccarii, a rheophytic species native to New Guinea and the Bismarck Archipelago. Closely related to Spathiphyllum, it produces a white spathe that clasps the spadix beneath the foliage and decomposes rapidly after flowering, yielding small leathery fruit capsules.
