Hottarum: Borneo Streamside Aroid

Hottarum is a small genus of rheophytic herbs in the Araceae family endemic to Borneo. It comprises a single species, Hottarum truncatum, a subshrub restricted to riverbanks in Sarawak, characterized by narrow leaves, a white spathe enveloping a spadix with contiguous female and male zones, and specialized splash-cup seed dispersal.
