Lasia: Spiny Aquatic Aroids

Lasia is a small genus of clump-forming, spiny-stemmed aquatic and marsh-dwelling aroids native to tropical and subtropical Asia and New Guinea. Comprised of two accepted species, these plants feature deeply pinnatifid leaves, spirally twisted spathes, and young shoots that are traditionally harvested as an edible vegetable.
