Mangonia: South American Tuberous Aroids

Mangonia is a small genus of flowering plants in the Araceae family comprising two species native to southern Brazil and Uruguay. These seasonally dormant, tuberous herbs feature entire, linear to subsagittate leaves with fine reticulate venation and a free spadix bearing a terminal synandrode appendix; their unisexual flowers lack a perigone.
