Ooia: Borneo’s Endemic Aroid Jewel

Ooia is a genus of flowering plants in the Araceae family, formally described in 2010 and comprised of two species endemic to the island of Borneo. These wet-tropical specialists are distinguished by the persistence of the entire spadix axis through to fruit maturation and dispersal, a feature unique within the tribe Schismatoglottideae.
