Peltandra: Arrow Arums of North American Wetlands

Peltandra, commonly called arrow arums, is a small genus of flowering perennials in the Araceae family comprising two extant species and one extinct fossil species native to temperate wetlands of eastern North America and Cuba. These marsh-dwelling plants feature distinctive arrow-shaped leaves and green spathes adapted to freshwater and brackish habitats along streams, rivers, and marshes.
