Scaphispatha: South American Aroid Rarities

Scaphispatha is a small Araceae genus native to Bolivia and Brazil, comprising two species noted for their slender peltate leaves and uncommon flowering habit.
Once thought to be monotypic with only Scaphispatha gracilis, it gained a second species, S. robusta, following its discovery in northern Brazil in 2003.
