Arisarum: Hooded Aroids of the Mediterranean

Arisarum is a small genus of flowering plants in the family Araceae native to the Mediterranean region, east to the Caucasus and west to Macaronesia. These tuberous perennial aroids produce an inflorescence composed of a spadix enclosed by a tubular spathe and share evolutionary ties with the genera Ambrosina and Peltandra.
