Hapaline: Delicate Tropical Tuber Aroids

Hapaline is a small genus of seven tuberous herbs in the Araceae family native to humid forests from southern China through Malesia. Unique as the only Old World member of the Caladieae tribe, these plants grow among humus pockets on basalt or limestone rock and bear solitary cordate-sagittate leaves that emerge alongside their inflorescences.
