Xanthosoma: Tropical Tuber Aroids

Xanthosoma is a genus of about 50 flowering species in the Araceae family, native to tropical America and widely cultivated across the tropics for their tuberous corms and ornamental, arrowhead-shaped leaves. Many species serve as food staples - known as malanga, tannia, and cocoyam - while others are prized in horticulture for bold foliage and distinctive inflorescences.
