Monstera: Nature’s Living Sculptures

Monstera is a genus of 59 species of flowering plants in the Araceae family, native to tropical regions of Central and South America. These evergreen epiphytic climbers develop iconic fenestrated leaves and thick, cord-like aerial roots that allow them to ascend host trees and absorb moisture and nutrients; mature plants may produce a spadix and spathe inflorescence and, in some species, edible fruit.
